NEWS - ACTIVITIES

  Viet Nam – Singapore Industrial Park Customs Branch, the Customs Branch managing cargo outside Industrial Parks, Song Than Industrial Park Customs Branch held sports league with enterprises in the area that strengthens the relationships between Customs - Enterprises In order to celebrate 71 years of the August Revolution (19/08/1945 – 19/08/2016) and the anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam 2/9; 71 years of establishment of Vietnam Customs (10/9/1945- 10/9/2016) and the 25 year anniversary of Binh Duong Customs Department (5/9/1991- 5/9/2016), by this occasion to create relationships between Customs - Enterprises in Di An town and Thuan An town, Binh Duong Province.
  Binh Duong Customs Department organizes meetings, visits to encourage officers who are the wounded soldiers and the relatives of martyrs on 27th July In the afternoon of 26th July, on the occasion of the 69th commemoration of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs Day (27/7/1947 - 27/7/2016), the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Binh Duong Customs Department held a meeting with customs officers who are the wounded soldiers, the relatives martyrs working at Binh Duong Customs Department.
  Binh Duong Customs Department assists the pupils in going to school in An Giang Province – the 8th time ince – the 8th time As usual every year, Binh Duong Customs Department is in collaboration with Trade Union of Southern Customs Office and a number of Trade Unions of Customs Departments in Southeastern such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Vung Tau, as well as sponsors who have organized the 8th volunteer summer program at the border in An Giang province with the theme "Go to school with pupils".
  In the first 06 months of 2016, external economic situation in the province continued growing with the positive impact of the FTA, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), the orientation of the TPP Agreement had attracted many investment projects; the im-export goods still maintained the growth rate over the same period in 2015. The situation of the state budget revenues were also many positive signs over the same period. Since the beginning of the year, Binh Duong Customs Department had developed and implemented several solutions to successfully complete the assigned political tasks, especially the task of collecting the state budget, against smuggling, commercial fraud...
  In the first 6 months, Binh Duong Customs Department had implemented several proactive measures of administrative reform, applied online public services in the spirit of Resolution No. 19/NQ-CP, created favorable conditions for enterprises to participate in im-export. As a result, Binh Duong Customs Department had been recognized by business community, helped the Customs Branches to foster better revenue.
  Binh Duong Customs Department responds to the second "Blood Donation" program in 2016 Recently, Binh Duong Customs Department and the Standing Committee of Youth Union of provincial agencies have organized the second "Blood Donation" program in 2016.
  Binh Duong Customs Department made effort to deploy multiple solutions performing the tasks. In the first months of 2016, it had made many positive results on the fields. With these initial results was creating belief to Binh Duong Customs Department to continue successfully fulfilling political tasks assigned in 2016.
  In morning 05th July 2016, the Customs General Department held online conference about preliminary wrap-up report of operation in the first 6 months and deployment of the last 6 months of 2016. The Deputy Finance Minister – Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan attended and directed conference, the Director General – Mr. Nguyen Van Can chaired.
  On 02nd July, the Ministry of Finance held an online conference about preliminary wrap-up report of finance, budget in the first 6 months of 2016, deployment financial tasks - State budget in the last 6 months of 2016. Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo Member, Deputy Prime Minister attended and directed. The conference was attended by the representatives of the People's Committee and the local finance unit at points of meeting throughout the country. Attending at Hanoi Point of meeting were Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Finance; the Vice Minister of Finance; the representatives of the units of the Ministry of Finance; the representatives of Ministries.
  On 30th June, Binh Duong People's Committee chaired and coordinated with Binh Duong Customs Department, Vietnam Logistics Review Magazine to organize a seminar "Binh Duong – Potential, advantages of logistics development and the role of Customs "in ICD Tan Cang- Song Than Binh Duong.

  YUMA, Ariz. – An adult male U.S. citizen and a 17-year-old male were taken into custody after the vehicle they occupied attempted to pass through a Border Patrol immigration checkpoint on I-8, east of Yuma, yesterday morning. H Wellton Station Border Patrol agents seized 40 pounds of meth, that was hidden inside of a smuggling vehicle A canine detection team alerted to the vehicle at the checkpoint, prompting a secondary inspection. Agents then discovered 40 pounds of methamphetamine, worth more than $122,000, hidden in the vehicle. The occupants, vehicle and drugs will be processed per Yuma Sector guidelines.

  SALTON CITY, Calif. – El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Indio Stations Highway 86 checkpoint, arrested a man suspected of drug smuggling after packages of methamphetamine were discovered in a backpack and also hidden inside a vehicle compartment on Friday.
  BROWNSVILLE, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Brownsville Port of Entry intercepted a load of alleged methamphetamine at the Gateway International Bridge. CBP officers discovered the alleged narcotics, valued at approximately $141,976, hidden under the clothing of a woman attempting entry into the United States and under the clothing of her infant child.
  LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers this weekend seized nearly half a million dollars in alleged hard narcotics during a two-drug seizure at the Laredo Port of Entry "Our officers utilized their experience-honed inspection skills and seized a combination drug load at Colombia-Solidarity Bridge," said Port Director Gregory Alvarez, Laredo Port of Entry. “The significant summer heat does not deter our officers from doing their job to keep our border safe.”
