NEWS - ACTIVITIES

  The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that Halifax resident Greg Austin Doucette, 38, was sentenced in Halifax Provincial Court on three charges of possessing, smuggling, importing, trafficking and distributing anabolic steroids under the Customs Act and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act(CDSA). Doucette was sentenced to a Conditional Sentence Order of 20 months, one-year probation on each charge, and a fine of $50,000 ($12,500 for each CDSA charge and $25,000 for the Customs Act charge). In addition, Doucette must forfeit all materials and cash seized by the CBSA.
  Hong Kong Customs yesterday seized about 2.2 kilogrammes of suspected methamphetamine (ice) at Lok Ma Chau Control Point. The market value of the drugs was about $990,000.
  The Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung signed the Decision No. 1011/QĐ-BTC dated May 29, 2015 awarding the title of Excellent Labour Team for 399 teams under General Department of Viet Nam Customs having excellent achievements in 2014.

  Wednesday, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Indio station arrested a suspected narcotics smuggler and seized more than 24 pounds of methamphetamine concealed within gas tank of a vehicle.
  Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro station arrested six men and seized 267 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $160,000.
  Hong Kong Customs foiled two suspected smuggling cases involving two container trucks at Lok Ma Chau Control Point yesterday (July 31) and seized a total of 330 computer hard disks and 1,176 pieces of computer RAM worth about $320,000 in total.

  1. Seizure of 52 kg of suspected cocaine leads to arrest at the Ambassador Bridge The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the seizure of 52 kilograms of suspected cocaine at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ontario. On July 27, 2015, a border services officer referred a commercial truck and trailer driven by a 26-year-old male for a secondary examination. While searching the truck, officers discovered 52 bricks of suspected cocaine inside three duffel bags and a tote located in the storage areas of the truck.
  29 July 2015 Hong Kong Customs detected the smuggling of suspected rhino horns in three express air parcels at Hong Kong International Airport on July 27. A total of 10 suspected rhino horn slabs weighing 6.71 kilograms, with an estimated value of about $1.34 million, was seized.
  28 July 2015 Hong Kong Customs seized about 15 kilograms of suspected ivory tusks and ivory products worth about $150,000 and arrested an incoming male passenger at Hong Kong International Airport yesterday (July 27).
  24 July 2015 Hong Kong Customs detected a suspected case of smuggled electronic products in refrigerated containers at Lok Ma Chau Control Point yesterday evening (July 23). A total of 88 mobile phones and 4 412 central processing units (CPUs) with a total value of about $4.5 million were seized.
  22 July 2015 Hong Kong Customs seized about 2 kilogrammes of suspected ketamine, with a market value of about $260,000, at the Lo Wu Control Point yesterday (July 21) and arrested a 19-year-old woman.
